3 Waters Operations Trainee - Wastewater Treatment
The wastewater requirements of Dunedin residents and visitors to the city are met by seven wastewater treatment plants. These plants ensure that wastewater discharges to the environment are of the highest possible standard and comply with consent limits. The people who operate treatment plants make an important contribution to the public health of the community in which they work.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a great attitude and with health and safety awareness to join our 3 Waters team as an Operations Trainee, based at our wastewater treatment plants. It is varied work which involves taking and recording readings, lab sampling and basic analysis, cleaning, troubleshooting, basic mechanical and plant maintenance, SCADA operation and much more. You don't need specific experience in the industry; however, it is important to have a genuine interest and commitment to learning about the process of treating wastewater. To thrive in our operational and physically demanding environment, you will enjoy hands-on activity, problem solving and will be comfortable working with computers and technology.
As a trainee, you will earn while you learn by following a training programme which includes gaining an industry standard level four qualification in wastewater treatment. Upon successful completion of the programme, you will become a qualified Wastewater Treatment Technician and will be part of a dedicated team that manage and operate the water and wastewater systems of Dunedin. As a qualified technician there are career pathways for further development within the industry, or there are opportunities in leadership, asset management and more.

Salary Range is $44,363 - $48,226 (gross per annum)
