We are looking for a Regulatory Officer to join the 3 Waters Group's Regulation and Policy Team.
Compliance with public health and environmental regulatory requirements is an essential part of delivering drinking water, wastewater and stormwater services to the community. We are seeking a positive, proactive and personable team member who can understand those requirements and champion the actions needed to ensure they are met. With nationwide reform of the three waters regulatory system in progress, this role provides an exciting opportunity!
This role will involve the successful candidate in all aspects of three waters regulatory compliance. You will establish good working relationships with regulators, advise and educate other staff on a range of regulation and compliance matters, facilitate engagement with mana whenua and stakeholders, prepare reports, and recommend (and in some cases implement) improvement actions. You will work closely with staff and teams across the 3 Waters Group to ensure resource consent conditions and drinking water regulatory requirements are met. This will provide you with opportunities to learn about a broad range of aspects of the water industry.
We are keen to hear from candidates with backgrounds in planning, sciences and/or regulation and compliance. Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, personable, and enjoy working independently within a supportive team, have great attention to detail and astute record-keeping skills, and have the communication skills to translate technical information into simple terms for a variety of audiences. Experience with the Resource Management Act 1991 and / or the Health Act 1956 and the Drinking-water Standards for New Zealand would be an advantage.

Salary range: $75,404 - $88,710
