Parks and Recreation Planner

The Dunedin City Council is the local authority for the wider Dunedin area. Our Parks and Recreation vision is to encourage ‘Dunedin's communities to be more active, more often, spending more time enjoying a connected and valued network of facilities, parks and open spaces'.
Reporting to the Planning and Partnerships Manager, the Parks and Recreation Planner is responsible for the development, implementation and application of parks and recreation policies and plans. This position is also responsible for supporting the Council's planning processes such as subdivision/development applications in relation to Parks and Recreation assets.
We are looking for a team player who can represent Parks and Recreation to provide professional and technical advice on behalf of Council to facilitate planned, sustainable city park, cemetery and open space growth.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Planning/Resource Management,
- Minimum of two years post qualification experience in planning/resource management, and/or reserves and recreation planning.
- Thorough knowledge of planning legislation and an awareness and understanding of other relevant legislation (i.e. the Reserves Act).

Salary range: $69,916 to $82,254
