The project we're looking for intern support on this year is ‘Transport Asset Renewal Validations'.

This involves a visit with the Asset Engineer to approximately 3500 sites across the Dunedin network, assessing each site, and adjusting the programme using a tablet. During inclement weather, the intern will assist with transport asset data improvement projects. Training in the systems used will be provided.
The role would suit a candidate who has studied civil engineering, and has an interest in transport infrastructure asset management.
General computer skills are sufficient for the role, however if the candidate has an interest / experience in databases and data cleansing, this would add value.
You must have a full NZ driver's licence, and have a reasonable level of fitness as a lot of walking is involved. Wearing comfortable footwear is recommended. Safety equipment (hi vis) will be provided.
Successful candidates will currently be enrolled in tertiary studies and will have the opportunity to work within a relevant department within the council. Spend your summer doing interesting work with our awesome team at the Dunedin City Council!
